Not all counterfeit products are made to always pass for the original. My theory is, the makers of Lovely and Tom Boy (background) Jeans want to establish their own brand-name recognition in the crowded field of from-a-distance-they-look-just-like-Levis apparel. Good thing they’re doing that, since they’re asking 925 rupees (US$18.50) a pair—not cheap for Kathmandu!
